FAQs
Mentaya is perfect if you:
• Have out of network benefits
• Feel overwhelmed by superbills and insurance
• Have submitted superbills but failed to get any reimbursement
• Simply want to skip the hassle of paperwork
Here’s how it works:
1. Sign up for Mentaya
2. I will enter your sessions into the platform
3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up
4. Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which covers handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies
Note: This service is free for you, and I don’t get any financial benefit from your participation. It’s all about saving you time and helping you get the care you deserve. If you have out-of-network benefits, they’ll typically cover 60-80% of each session. You can use Mentaya’s out-of-network reimbursement calculator for an estimate of your specific costs. If you’d like, I can submit claims to your insurance on your behalf via Mentaya, so no need to stress about paperwork.
It’s easier than you might think. You’ll receive a superbill from me each month, and most insurance companies allow you to submit it online. Once they process it, they’ll pop a reimbursement check in the mail for you. Easy as that! If you want to simplify things, Mentaya can take care of all the claim submissions for you at no extra cost.
Pro Tip: Call the number on the back of your insurance card (Member Services) and ask the following questions:
Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage? Am I able to use these benefits for telehealth?
What is my out-of-network deductible?
How much of my deductible has been met this year?
Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?
What percentage of outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?
How much will I be reimbursed for a 50-minute psychotherapy session (CPT code: 90837).
This will help you know exactly what to expect!
Yes, I believe support should be accessible to everyone, so I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots. If cost is a concern, reach out to me, and we’ll find a way to make it work. No guilt, no shame — just a commitment to your healing.
I accept all major credit cards, including HSA and FSA cards, because mental health care is health care. Payments are processed at the time of your session, so there’s no fuss, no chasing invoices — just a smooth process to keep the focus where it belongs: on you.
Therapy is about healing emotional wounds and patterns from the past—like anxiety, postpartum rage, or deep-seated perfectionism. We’ll explore where those feelings come from and work on long-term transformation.
Coaching, on the other hand, is all about right now. It’s forward-focused and action-driven, helping you set goals, reclaim your identity, and move through the overwhelm of motherhood with clarity. Therapy dives deep into the roots; coaching is about breaking free and moving forward.
Still not sure which you need? Let’s talk and figure it out together.
I provide all potential new clients a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. We’ll talk about what you’re struggling with and what you’re hoping to achieve, and I’ll share how I can help. Think of it as a little coffee chat — except we’re getting straight to the heart of what you need.
In our first 1-2 sessions, we’ll discuss what’s really going on for you, including your struggles, your goals, and where you feel stuck. From there, we’ll craft a plan that’s as unique as you are.
Each following session will be a space for you to unpack your thoughts, emotions, challenge old patterns, and discover strategies that actually work for you. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all deal. As you grow and shift, so will our approach, making sure therapy keeps moving at your pace, on your terms. We’re in this together, every step of the way.
Ready to dive in? You can book your session right here to access the client portal, where you can schedule an initial consultation to discuss your needs and determine the best approach for your care.
If you’re new, book a free 15-minute consultation first, and we’ll talk about your needs and see if we’re a good fit. Simple, straightforward, and all about you.
We usually start with weekly sessions because consistency is key when you’re creating real change. Whether we’re working through deep emotional healing or practical coaching goals, meeting regularly gives you the momentum you need to move forward. We’ll adjust as you go, depending on your needs.
Everyone’s path is different though, and there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients work with me for a few months, others for a year or more. What’s important is that you feel supported for as long as you need. We’ll check in often to make sure the work is still aligned with your goals. Ultimately, this is your journey — you get to decide how long we walk it together.
My rate is $275 for individual 50-minute therapy and coaching sessions. Your mental health and well-being are worth the investment. And if you’re on the fence, let’s talk it through. It’s about getting the right kind of support to help you thrive.
Therapy is only available for Maryland residents (because legal stuff), but coaching is available to mamas anywhere in the world! If you’re outside of Maryland but need support, let’s talk about how coaching might work for you.
