About Aubrey
Licensed Art Therapist and Counselor Supporting Moms and Moms-to-Be Through Rage, Overwhelm, and the Emotional Weight of Motherhood
You're Not Too Much. And You're Not Alone.
And I promise you are not the only one who feels this way.
You have been holding it together on the outside while quietly unraveling on the inside.
You go from hyper-alert to completely shut down.
You carry constant guilt for not being more patient, more present, or more grateful.
You may find yourself tearful or numb.
Irritable or withdrawn.
Overwhelmed by the noise and overstimulation, then ashamed for needing space.
Maybe this began even earlier.
Maybe during fertility stress or pregnancy, when no one told you how intense your emotions might become or how confusing it would feel inside your own body.
You miss the version of you who felt creative, clear, and whole before everything changed.
You feel lost in your own body and disconnected from your intuition.
No matter how much you analyze it or try to push through, something inside you feels like it is breaking under the weight of it all.
You tell yourself this is just early motherhood, or that you should be coping better, or that it is not “bad enough” to ask for help.
But something in you knows this is not sustainable.
If this is where you are right now, I want you to know this:
You are not broken.
You are not failing.
And you are not alone.
Hi, I'm Aubrey!
I support women who are navigating the emotional challenges that can begin as early as trying to conceive and continue through pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood.
I help mothers work through rage, overwhelm, anxiety, depression, grief, and identity shifts so they can feel like themselves again.
I have lived through the intensity of postpartum rage and anxiety myself.
I know how disorienting it feels to look calm on the outside while falling apart inside.
That lived experience shapes the compassion, steadiness, and clarity I bring to this work.
My role is not to judge your feelings or tell you how motherhood should look.
My role is to help you reconnect with yourself in a way that feels grounding, honest, and healing.
The Mothers I Support
You may recognize yourself in one or more of these experiences:
Feeling consumed by postpartum rage or irritability
Struggling with anxiety, panic, or emotional overwhelm
Feeling overstimulated, raw, or constantly on edge
Carrying guilt or shame for needing space
Feeling disconnected from your body or your intuition
Grieving who you used to be
Feeling lost, exhausted, or invisible
Navigating identity shifts that began during fertility struggles or pregnancy
Overfunctioning on the outside while unraveling on the inside
If any of this feels familiar, there is a place for you here.
My Approach
I offer virtual therapy for Maryland moms who want to understand their emotions, calm their nervous system, and reconnect with themselves.
My work blends art therapy, trauma-informed talk therapy, and somatic tools to support healing on a deeper level. We don’t just analyze what’s going on in your mind. We explore how your emotions live in your body, how they connect to your story, and how they’re asking to be expressed.
You don’t need perfect insight or the right words to begin. You need a space where you can stop bracing, land in your body, and finally exhale. That’s what we create together.
These are the approaches and theories that shape our work together:
Art Therapy
Supports emotional expression when words fall short and helps the body release what it has been holding.
Somatic Therapy
Helps you tune into your body’s signals so you can regulate from the inside out rather than pushing through overwhelm.
Trauma-Informed Talk Therapy
Offers space to explore your story with compassion and without judgment.
Feminist Therapy
Helps you understand how cultural expectations, gender roles, and systemic pressures shape your emotions so you can release internalized guilt and reconnect with your own authority.
Mindfulness and Embodiment Practices
Help you reconnect with your body, slow down your stress response, and feel more grounded and present.
Internal Family Systems and Parts Work
Helps you understand the different parts of you, including the ones that feel guilty, angry, or exhausted.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Supports you in understanding the patterns that shape your thoughts and how those thoughts influence your emotions.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Helps you move toward what matters most to you with intentionality and less self-judgment.
Narrative and Solution-Focused Approaches
Provide clarity, insight, and forward movement when you feel overwhelmed or lost.
This work is not about fixing you.
It is about reconnecting with the self you are becoming.
